Impregnation

We have developed the innovative, space-saving and resource-conserving IMFLEX process for impregnation of stators – IMpregnation FLEXible. The IMFLEX system can be used as a laboratory system for prototype manufacture or as a modular production line for series production. The required processing heat is generated by induction directly at the workpiece and the impregnation resin is accurately applied to the workpiece by the trickling process. We can achieve optimized, shorter production times with this process.

Additional technological features can be integrated to meet the requirements of your product. A gel coating in the trickling process can be implemented or the welding head can be sealed by powder coating in the fluidized bed sintering process. Inductive heating also significantly increases production output and energy efficiency here.

Automatic Process:

  • Pick-up of the workpiece from the line
  • Placement on special workpiece carrier
  • Internal workpiece handling with multi-axis central conveyor system

Heater module:

  • homogeneous heating of the workpiece to tricking temperature

Trickling module:

  • Application of the resin in the region of the winding heads by trickling while the workpiece is rotated evenly around the longitudinal axis

Gel module:

  • Gel temperature is achieved and maintained followed by increase to curing temperature while continuing rotation of the workpiece

Curing module:

  • Temperature maintained over defined curing time

Cooling module:

  • Workpiece cooled to handling temperature

optional:

Gel coating module:

  • Application of the gel coat within the area of the bridges and the phase connections in the trickling process

Powder coating module:

  • Application of the powder in the area of the welding head by dipping the heated workpiece in a fluidized bed sinter bath

The quality of the impregnation is monitored primarily by checking the increase in weight at technologically important points during the automatic production process.
