Practical Student Adrien Marmillon

Je m'appelle Adrien Marmillon and I am a French student in engineering science in Lyon. Since I have to choose my specialization in this area next year and since I do not know so much about the practice, I wanted to look around for the first time what an engineer does at all. That is why I applied for an internship at Gehring. I have just finished my 3rd week and have learned a lot.First I went into the TB hardware / software department and I have been able to participate in a couple of meetings with different areas. The discussions focused on technical aspects, problems and approaches to solutions on different topics. This was very interesting because some solutions were tested on their functionality and were compared with each other. I also had the opportunity to look into the marketing department. Right on the first day I had the opportunity to visit the Engine Expo at the exhibition in Stuttgart. It was very exciting as I got to know some companies and technology that I did not know before. At the same time, some customers were invited to a plant and machinery management at the company in Ostfildern. In marketing, I was able to help, organize and carry out some exciting events, such as the Gehring Summer Festival 2017. In recent weeks, I've learned a lot of new things, not just about what an engineer is and what he does. That was actually my goal at the beginning. But I've also discovered other things, especially in the marketing department where it was also very interesting. All the people I have met in this company are very nice and they all took the time to explain what they do in the company. Now I am still here by the end of July and hope that I will learn much more.
